Network Engineer ll  Job 521

Location: Maryland (Between DC and Baltimore)

Salary Range: $75-85k

Essential Functions:

-Implement hardware and software upgrades

-Update documentation of equipment

-Install and maintain network cable plant

-Handle customer trouble tickets, provide third level support

-Stay current in knowledge base

-Coordinate with the team

-Make recommendations for procedures, equipment and software

-Have the ability to work after hours and a rotating on-call

Essential Skills:

-CCNP w/ 3-5 years progressive work experience

-Demonstrated knowledge of SIP and H.323

-Working knowledge of IP routing protocols (IGP, EGP & OSPF), IP subnetting, design and deploy IP solutions

-Through knowledge of IP Telephony, VOIP, IP Teleconferencing.

-Must have ability to support multi-vendor solutions

-Understands Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches

-VPN/IPSec technologies and firewalls

-Knowledge of telecom transmissions (DS-X, OC-X, MPLS etc)

-Excellent communicator

-Strong organizational skills

-Dependable, with a strong work ethic

Preferred Skills:

-General technical knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation

of telecommunication systems

-Associates degree in a related field

-Background in math, science and computers
