General Description
To perform any and all duties required regarding truck fleet operation. Plan the site and setup of the fleet with safety, environmental, DOT, and code compliance in mind. Coordinate receiving and delivery of lime/lime slurry; supervise the proper distribution of the lime/lime slurry to customer. Optimize the revenue creation while minimizing costs and assuring the quality and quantity of service meets customer specifications and satisfaction.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Required; CDL with tanker endorsement license. Driving and aptitude test will be given.
- Working ability to dispatch/schedule incoming deliveries, outgoing deliveries, equipment repairs, and rental equipment.
- Working computer skills in excel, word, data base programs such as SAP, and search engine online programs.
- Strong compliance and safety orientation.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, fleet equipment, and excellent fleet mechanical skills.
- Ability to supervise numerous truck driver employees (from 1-30 depending on demand).
- Excellent communication, filing, and reporting skills.
- Ability to professionally represent LNA and lead the truck fleet in an unsupervised environment
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Proficient reading and writing English language (bi-lingual Spanish preferred).
- Capable of prolonged exposure to elements, work long days/weeks, and ability to lift/pull/drag 100 lbs min.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Balance day to day delivery of lime/lime slurry and spreading to assure customer satisfaction while enhancing revenue and minimizing the costs.
- Coordinate, plan, and execute the delivery of lime supply to prevent any delays, downtime, or extra costs.
- Problem solving all issues within fleet control thru contractor, general contractor, Texas DOT, etc.
- Ensure fleet reliability by preventative maintenance and monitoring the components of the fleet process such as brakes, tires, springs, bushings, lights, tank, air supply, etc.
- Continuously communicate the status of projects with the terminal to ensure cost effective decisions are made to utilize equipment efficiently.
- Ensure the DOT, safety, TCEQ, and environmental compliance of the fleet follow all LNA, contractor, and regulatory rules of enforcement.
